Public Transport
From Republic Square in Yerevan, take bus number 231 towards Ohanavan. The ride takes approximately 40 minutes. From the Ohanavan bus stop, walk uphill for about 15 minutes following the signs to Hovhannavank. A taxi from the Ohanavan bus stop to the monastery costs around 1000 AMD.

A taxi from Yerevan to Hovhannavank costs approximately 2000 AMD and takes around 26 minutes. Alternatively, a taxi from Ohanavan to Yerevan Airport (EVN) will cost $9 - $12 and take approximately 30 minutes.
Car
From the center of Aragatsotn, head towards Ohanavan village. Follow the main road leading north. After approximately 12 km, look for signs for Hovhannavank and turn right. Continue on this road for about 3 km until you reach the monastery. Parking is available near the entrance.
