Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Aruba and offer a direct route to Alto Vista Winery & Distillery. From Oranjestad, expect a fixed fare. Taxi from the airport to Oranjestad is about $21. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. A surcharge of $3 is added on Sundays, official holidays, and from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Minimum fare is $7.
Public Transport

To reach Alto Vista Winery & Distillery via public transport, find the nearest bus stop along L.G. Smith Boulevard. Take bus number 10 towards the Alto Vista area. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop to Alto Vista Winery & Distillery. After getting off, walk approximately 300 meters along Alto Vista ZN, and you will find the winery on your right. A one-way bus pass costs $2.60 (4.50 AWG).

Alto Vista Winery & Distillery offers a unique experience as Aruba's first and only winery and distillery. Situated in the Alto Vista region, near the iconic Alto Vista Chapel, the winery cultivates its own grapes using innovative methods to thrive in Aruba's arid climate. The winery is owned by local David Kock, and it's a true family business. Visitors can explore the vineyard and distillery through guided tours, gaining insights into the winemaking and distilling processes. The tour includes a walk through the vines, a visit to the distillery where Red Star Rum is produced, and a tasting room experience with wine samples paired with a snack platter. The tour typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and costs $39 per person. For those not taking the tour, stopping by to enjoy locally made wine on the outside deck is a great option. The winery also focuses on sustainability, striving to reuse and recycle materials. The tranquil atmosphere and warm colors of the sunshine create a postcard-perfect setting.
