Discover more about Boca Grandi

Boca Grandi, meaning "Big Mouth," is a dramatic, undeveloped beach on Aruba's southeastern tip. Shaped by constant trade winds and rimmed by dunes, it offers a wilder side of Aruba, far from the high-rise hotels and bustling streets. This windswept crescent of sand is a favorite among experienced kitesurfers, who come to launch into the surf and streak across the sky. Spectators can marvel at their jumps and loops, creating a captivating ocean ballet. While swimming is strongly discouraged due to the strong currents, Boca Grandi is ideal for beachcombing, walking, and taking in Aruba's raw beauty. Beachcombers can discover driftwood, corals, and other curiosities brought ashore by the ocean. A quaint beach bar offers chilled drinks. The beach is marked by a giant red anchor, a popular spot for photos. Boca Grandi is also a stop on the way to Baby Beach and the San Nicolas art murals. The consistent winds, especially strong from January to August, create ideal conditions for kitesurfing. Although primarily for advanced riders, beginners can find calmer waters closer to shore.
