Discover more about Sero Colorado Lighthouse

Sero Colorado Lighthouse, situated at the southeasternmost point of Aruba, serves as a beacon for maritime traffic navigating the island's reefs. The current lighthouse, also known as the Colorado Point Lighthouse, isn't particularly known for its elaborate design, but it's the views and surrounding landscape that make it a worthwhile visit. Originally constructed in 1881 using stone and wood, the lighthouse has undergone changes over the years. Today, it features a metal structure with a light displayed at the top of an 8-meter-high tower, shielded by a wire cage. The light's focal height of 51 meters allows it to be seen for up to 21 nautical miles. While the lighthouse interior is not accessible to the public, the site is. Visitors can explore the area, taking in the dramatic coastal scenery, where waves crash against the rocky shores. On a clear day, it's even possible to see Venezuela from the Colorado Point Scenic Lookout. The area around Colorado Point also holds historical significance, with remnants of military defense zones and bunkers used by American soldiers during World War II to protect the oil refinery that once operated here. To enhance your visit, consider combining it with a trip to nearby attractions such as Baby Beach, Rodgers Beach, or the Seroe Colorado Anchor.
