Getting There

  • Walking

    Begin your journey at the center of Savaneta. Head east on the main street, which is known as Weg naar San Nicolaas. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Weg naar Oranjestad. Turn left at the intersection onto Weg naar Oranjestad. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers, passing by local shops and houses. You will then come to a roundabout. Take the second exit onto L.G. Smith Boulevard. After walking another 1.5 kilometers, you'll arrive at the entrance to Spanish Lagoon on your right. Look for signs indicating 'Spanish Lagoon' and walk towards the lagoon area.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Savaneta. Start at the rental location and cycle east on Weg naar San Nicolaas for about 1.5 kilometers. At the intersection with Weg naar Oranjestad, turn left. Continue cycling straight for approximately 2 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. After reaching the roundabout, take the second exit onto L.G. Smith Boulevard. Keep cycling for an additional 1.5 kilometers, and you will find Spanish Lagoon on your right, marked by signs. Park your bicycle in the designated area and explore the lagoon.

    From Savaneta, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Weg naar San Nicolaas. You can catch a bus heading towards Oranjestad. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop closest to Spanish Lagoon. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. After disembarking, walk back towards the main road and follow the signs for Spanish Lagoon, which should be on your right after a short 10-minute walk.
