Public Transport - Bus
From the Adelaide city center, head to the Adelaide Central Bus Station. Look for the bus services operated by Adelaide Metro. You will want to take the bus number 823, which heads towards Mount Lofty Summit. The bus will take you through Crafers. Stay on the bus until you reach the Mount Lofty Summit stop, which is approximately a 30-minute ride from the city center. Once you get off at the Mount Lofty Summit stop, follow the signs to the summit area, which is just a short walk away.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are up for a hike, you can walk from the base of Mount Lofty. Start from the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, located at 16 Lampert Road, Crafers. From here, take the Summit Road Trail, which is a well-marked path leading directly to Mount Lofty Summit. The hike is about 3 kilometers and can take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!

Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can also bike to Mount Lofty Summit. Rent a bicycle in the city and follow the bike paths heading southeast. The route will take you through the beautiful Adelaide Hills. It’s about a 15-kilometer ride from the city center. Make sure to follow the designated cycling paths and be cautious of traffic as you approach Crafers. Once you reach the Mount Lofty Summit area, there are bike racks available for you to secure your bicycle.
