If you are starting from the Cairns Esplanade, head towards the southern end of the Esplanade boardwalk. Follow the path along the waterfront until you reach the intersection with Abbott Street. Turn left onto Abbott Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Florence Street. Turn right onto Florence Street, and you will soon see signs leading to the Cairns City Sunday Walk. This scenic walk is easily accessible from the Esplanade.

From the Cairns Central Shopping Centre, walk to the nearest bus stop located on McLeod Street. Take any bus that heads towards the city center. Get off at the Cairns City bus terminal. From the terminal, walk towards the Esplanade and follow the directions for walking from the Esplanade as detailed above. The bus is a convenient option if you are further away from the Esplanade.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride along the Cairns Esplanade Cycleway. Start at the northern end of the Esplanade and head south. The cycleway will take you directly past many attractions along the waterfront. As you approach the southern end of the Esplanade, you will find signs indicating the start of the Cairns City Sunday Walk.
