We had overseas visitors here to surprise my husband for his Birthday. We wanted to incorporate both the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley. Mike was amazing! He collected us from our door, drove us to the Mountains for a tour, arranged Scenic World and then collected us the next morning to transfer us to The Hunter Valley. He arranged all the wine tasting and made it all so seamless. We also did a Hot Air Balloon ride on the Monday and Mike then transported us back to Sydney to the door. Absolutely the best weekend. Mike is professional, reliable and knowledgeable. He made planning this surprise so easy and great value. Could not recommend Mike and Beyond Tours any more highly!!!

Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney

Cheese, chocolate and wine!

This was a terrific day trip out of Sydney. Our driver was Tom and we had a wonderfully international group: Singapore, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, UK and US. The winery was quite educational and we learned a lot about different grapes, nurturing vines and making wine. At the next stop, the wine and chocolate were delightful and the employee (Helen, I think?) was highly entertaining while explaining the pairings. Next stop was lunch and the fish and chips were delicious! That was followed by the wine and cheese tastings, another interesting presentation. Last stop was at the distillery. It offers an amazing variety of gins, vodka and schnapps! One word: Hazelnut. But Tom had one last treat on the way home. A very brief diversion from the main highway...to a field of wild kangaroos! So special to see for all of us. I had to go with four stars for two reasons. First, as an older tour member, terrain at every stop was easy to navigate. However, the winery visit was standing for about an hour. NOT a reason not to take the tour. Just be prepared. As we were leaving, one of the employees noticed me, apologized and said they would have provided a stool during the tasting. So if you need one...just ask! Second, the bus was a good size with two steps up for those of us older with short legs. LOL! Unfortunately, the seat was hard with no cushioning. Both of those items were more impactful for me personally and should not discourage anyone from taking this tour. It was a beautiful day and Tom was a terrific guide.
