Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Coorong. Head southeast on Coorong Road, following the signs toward the Coorong National Park. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Jack Point Road. Turn right onto Jack Point Road and follow it for another 2 kilometers. You'll see a sign for the Jack Point Observatory Deck. There is a parking area available where you can leave your vehicle.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the Coorong town center to the nearest bus stop on Coorong Road. Check the local bus schedules as they may be limited. Once you get off at the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 12 kilometers to reach the Jack Point Observatory Deck. It is advisable to arrange a taxi or rideshare service from the bus stop to the observatory as walking this distance may not be practical for many tourists.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to walk, you can take a short bush walk from the parking area along the designated trails leading to the Jack Point Observatory Deck. The trail is well-marked and offers a pleasant experience, allowing you to enjoy the local flora and fauna. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water, as the walk can take about 30 minutes.
