Getting there

Car

If you are driving, head towards Mossman, Queensland. From Mossman, take the Mossman-Daintree Road (State Route 48) heading north. Follow this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the Daintree Gateway. There is a parking area available for visitors. Parking fees may apply, so ensure to check signage upon arrival.

Public Transportation

To reach Daintree Gateway via public transportation, take a bus from Cairns to Mossman. Several bus companies operate this route, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Mossman, you can catch a local bus or taxi to Daintree Gateway, which is approximately a 20-minute drive away. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest times and connections.

Ferry

If you are coming from the south and want to cross the Daintree River, you will need to use the Daintree Ferry. It is located just before the Daintree Gateway. The ferry operates daily from 5 AM to 12 AM, and there is a fee for the crossing (approximately AUD 30 for a standard vehicle). This is a scenic route that will enhance your journey into the rainforest.
