Getting There

• Car

  From Melbourne, take the Eastern Freeway (M3) towards Ringwood. Continue on the M3 until it merges with the Maroondah Highway (B300). Follow the Maroondah Highway through Lilydale and Yarra Junction. Once you reach Warburton, turn left onto Warburton Highway (B380). Follow this road until you see signs for Mount Donna Buang. Turn onto Mt Donna Buang Summit Rd and follow it to the observation tower. Be aware that the road may be winding and steep in sections, so drive carefully. There are no entry fees for the observation area, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition for the ascent.

  To reach Mount Donna Buang via public transport, take a train from Melbourne to Lilydale Station. From Lilydale, transfer to a bus (Route 683) heading to Warburton. Once you arrive in Warburton, you can either walk to the observation tower, which is approximately 10 km away (a long hike), or arrange a local taxi or rideshare to take you directly to Mt Donna Buang Summit Rd. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may be limited, especially on weekends and public holidays.
