Car
To reach Gerrards Lookout by car, start from Cairns, the largest city in Far North Queensland. Take the Captain Cook Highway (A1) south towards Port Douglas. Continue on the A1, then take the exit towards Mossman and follow the signs to Mareeba. From Mareeba, take the Kennedy Highway (A5) towards Mount Molloy. Once you reach the intersection at Mount Molloy, turn onto the Mossman-Mount Molloy Road. Follow this road until you reach the Bump Track, where you will turn left. Continue to follow the road signs directing you towards Maleny. Gerrards Lookout will be located on Maleny-Montville Rd, just a short distance from the main road. Make sure to park safely in designated areas.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, start at the Cairns Central Station. Take a Greyhound bus service to Maleny. This journey will take approximately 2.5 hours, and it is advisable to check the Greyhound schedule prior to your trip for current timings and availability. Once you arrive in Maleny, you can either take a taxi or shuttle service to Gerrards Lookout, which is about a 15-minute drive away.
