Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Traralgon. Head east on the Princes Highway (A1) towards Sale. Continue on the A1 for approximately 55 kilometers until you reach Sale. In Sale, take the exit onto the South Gippsland Highway (B220) heading towards Foster. Follow the South Gippsland Highway for about 40 kilometers until you reach Wilsons Promontory National Park. Skull Rock is located within the park, so be sure to have a map or GPS for navigation once you enter the park. Note that there is an entry fee for the national park, which is approximately AUD 17 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a V/Line train from Melbourne to Traralgon. The journey takes about 2 hours. From Traralgon, you can catch a bus to Sale, which takes about 30 minutes. Once in Sale, you will need to hire a car or arrange for a taxi to get to Wilsons Promontory National Park, as public transport options are limited. The taxi ride from Sale to the national park will take about 40 minutes and may cost around AUD 90-120. Remember to check the bus and train schedules ahead of your trip for the most accurate travel times.
