If you're traveling by car, start from the town center of Shepparton. Head north on Benalla Road (C371) towards the Goulburn Valley Highway (M39). Continue on the M39 for approximately 26 kilometers until you reach the exit for Koonoomoo. Take the exit and follow signs for Koonoomoo, which will lead you onto Koonoomoo-Locksley Road. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers until you see Guilmartins Beach on your right. There is parking available at the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Guilmartins Beach using public transportation, start by taking a V/Line bus from Shepparton to Cobram, which runs regularly throughout the day. The fare is approximately AUD 10-15, depending on the time of booking. Once you arrive at Cobram, take a local bus or taxi to Koonoomoo. The local bus service may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. After reaching Koonoomoo, it's about a 2 km walk to Guilmartins Beach, which you can follow by heading east on Koonoomoo-Locksley Road.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from Shepparton to Guilmartins Beach. Begin on the Goulburn Valley Highway (M39) heading north. There are bike-friendly paths along some sections of the road, but be cautious of traffic. The total distance is about 30 kilometers, so ensure you're well-prepared with water and snacks. Once you reach Koonoomoo, follow Koonoomoo-Locksley Road for about 3 kilometers to reach the beach.
