Walking

From the Apollo Bay Visitor Information Centre on the Great Ocean Road, many of the town's attractions are easily accessible on foot. The foreshore, shops, and restaurants are all within a short walk. Head east along the Great Ocean Road to reach the harbor and pier. Walking is free and allows you to fully appreciate the coastal scenery.

Public Transport

Apollo Bay is accessible by V/Line bus services from Geelong. From Geelong Station, take the V/Line bus towards Apollo Bay. The bus will drop you off at the Apollo Bay Visitor Information Centre on the Great Ocean Road. As of January 2025, a full fare from Geelong to Apollo Bay costs $11.00, or $5.50 for concessions. Tickets can be purchased at Geelong Station or from the driver with cash.

Taxi

Apollo Bay Taxis service the town and surrounding areas. Taxis can be hailed or booked in advance. A short taxi ride within Apollo Bay will typically cost between $15 and $25, depending on the distance and traffic.

Driving

If arriving by car, Apollo Bay is located on the Great Ocean Road (B100), approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from Melbourne. Free car parking is available at the Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre and along the foreshore. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak tourist season.
