Getting There

• Car

  From Great Southern, head towards Albany Highway and merge onto the highway heading northeast. Continue on Albany Highway for about 360 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Perth. From Perth, follow the signs for Kwinana Freeway (National Route 1) towards Sydney. Continue on the freeway, and it will eventually lead you to the South Sydney area. Take the exit for the Eastern Distributor, and follow the signs towards Sydney CBD. Once in the city, follow the signs to the Sydney Opera House located at Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. Note that parking in the vicinity may incur costs ranging from $2 to $5 per hour, depending on the location.

  To reach Sydney Opera House using public transportation, start by taking a train from Great Southern to Perth Station. From there, take the Indian Pacific train heading east towards Sydney, which is a scenic route but can take over 3 days. Upon arrival in Sydney, make your way to Circular Quay Station. From Circular Quay, it’s a short walk to the Sydney Opera House, which is located at Bennelong Point, just a few hundred meters from the station. The train ticket from Great Southern to Perth can range from $100 to $200 depending on the class, and the Indian Pacific train fare can vary significantly based on the service selected.

  If you prefer to use a bus, first travel to Albany by local bus services. From Albany, take a long-distance coach service to Perth.
