  If you are driving from Cardwell, head south on the Bruce Highway (A1) for approximately 25 kilometers. Take the exit toward Ingham and follow the signs to the town center. From Ingham, continue on the A1 for another 60 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to Five Mile Creek Road. Turn left onto Five Mile Creek Road and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Butterfly Valley is located at 284 Five Mile Creek Rd, Damper Creek QLD 4849. Be sure to keep an eye out for the signs as you approach the valley.

• Public Transport

  If you are relying on public transport, start by taking a bus from Cardwell to Ingham. Once you arrive in Ingham, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Butterfly Valley, as public transport options to Damper Creek are limited. The taxi ride from Ingham to Butterfly Valley will take approximately 45 minutes and may cost around AUD 70-100, depending on the service and time of day. It’s advisable to book the taxi in advance.

• Bicycle

  For those adventurous enough to cycle, you can ride from Cardwell to Butterfly Valley. Follow the same route as if you were driving: take the Bruce Highway (A1) south towards Ingham, then turn onto Five Mile Creek Road. The journey is about 30 kilometers and will take approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on your fitness level. Remember to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as there are limited services along the route.
