Bus
From the Hobart city center, head to the Elizabeth Street bus stop. Catch the Metro bus number 446 towards 'Fern Tree'. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Fern Tree' stop. From there, you can follow the well-marked walking trails that lead up to Mount Wellington. The trails will take you through beautiful bushland with signs to guide you along the way.
Walking
If you're already at the base of Mount Wellington, you can access the walking tracks from the 'Fern Tree' area. Start at the Fern Tree Tavern and follow the 'Pinnacle Track' which is approximately 6.5 kilometers long and will take about 2-3 hours to reach the summit. The track is well-marked and offers stunning views of Hobart and beyond.
Bike
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Hobart and ride towards Mount Wellington. Start from Salamanca Place and head towards the Huon Road. Follow the signs to 'Mount Wellington' and take the route that goes through Fern Tree. It is a challenging ride uphill, so be prepared for a workout!
