Getting There

  • Driving

    From Jabiru, drive south on Kakadu Highway (Arnhem Highway) for approximately 30 km. Look for the signposted turnoff to Mirray Lookout on the right. Follow this access road for about 6 km to the car park. Note that the access road may be unsealed and rough, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended, especially during the wet season. Kakadu National Park requires a park pass for entry. These can be purchased online, at the Bowali Visitor Centre near Jabiru, or at the Katherine Visitor Centre. A 7-day pass costs $40 per adult during the dry season (May 15 – October 31) and $25 during the tropical summer (November 1 – May 14). Children's and family passes are also available.

  • Walking

    Once at the Mirray Lookout car park, follow the designated trail to the lookout point. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and is considered moderately difficult. The trail involves a steep climb. Allow 1.5 hours for the return trip. Wear appropriate walking shoes and carry water, especially during warm weather.
