The bay was named in the early 19th century by French explorer Nicolas Baudin. The bay is also famous for its cray fishing industry, where you can observe boats returning to the jetty with their fresh catches. Little Sahara, home to the island's only sand dunes, offers hiking, quad biking, and sandboarding opportunities.
