Start your journey by heading to Flinders Street Station in the Melbourne CBD. From Flinders Street, take the Belgrave Line train towards Belgrave. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Disembark at the 'Belgrave' station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the bus stop for Route 688.

Catch the Route 688 bus towards 'Sherbrooke'. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Sherbrooke Forest' which is close to Grants Picnic Ground. From the bus stop, walk along Sherbrooke Road for about 10 minutes until you reach Coles Ridge Track. Turn left onto Coles Ridge Track, and you will find Grants Picnic Ground on your right.

If you prefer to walk from Belgrave Station, you can take a scenic route. Exit the station and head left onto Main Street, then turn right onto Belgrave-Gembrook Road. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Dandenong Ranges National Park. From there, you can follow the signs to Grants Picnic Ground, which is about a 15-minute walk.
