From any location in Mid North Coast, head south on the Pacific Highway (A1). If you're in Port Macquarie, take the Hastings River Drive and merge onto the Pacific Highway (A1) towards Taree. Continue south for about 75 kilometers until you reach the town of Kempsey. Take the exit towards Crescent Head (B56) and follow signs to Crescent Head. After enjoying the beach there, continue on B56 until you reach the intersection with the Pacific Highway (A1) again. Turn left and continue south until you reach the turnoff for Bonny Hills (B12). Follow Bonny Hills Drive until you reach Rainbow Beach. The entire drive from Port Macquarie to Rainbow Beach should take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
