Car
From the main town area in Mid West, head southeast on the Great Northern Highway (National Route 1) towards the town of Hartley. Continue on the highway for approximately 170 kilometers until you reach the exit for Hartley. Take the exit onto the Old Great Western Highway (B55) and continue for about 6 kilometers. The Hartley Historic Site will be on your left at 51 Old Great Western Hwy, Hartley NSW 2790. There is no entry fee for visiting the site.

Take a bus from Geraldton to Lithgow; the journey typically takes around 10-12 hours depending on the service. Once in Lithgow, you can catch a local bus to Hartley. Check the local bus schedules as they may vary. The Hartley Historic Site is approximately 12 kilometers from the Lithgow bus stop. You may need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to cover this last leg, with fares varying based on demand and distance.
