Car
If you are driving, start from the main visitor area in Mount Field National Park. Head south on Lake Dobson Road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the Florentine Peak trailhead, which is located on the left-hand side. There is a small parking area where you can leave your car. Note: A National Parks pass is required to enter Mount Field National Park, which costs around AUD 40 for a 24-hour vehicle pass.

Public Transport
To reach Florentine Peak using public transportation, take a bus from Hobart to the town of New Norfolk. From New Norfolk, you will need to catch a connecting bus to Mount Field National Park. Once in the park, follow the pedestrian signs to the Florentine Peak trailhead. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary throughout the week. Note: A National Parks entry fee is still required.

If you are already within Mount Field National Park and wish to walk to Florentine Peak, locate the Florentine Peak walking track near the visitor center. This trail leads directly to the peak and is approximately a 5-kilometer hike. The track is well-marked, but be prepared for a steep ascent in parts. Ensure you have plenty of water and snacks, and allow around 3-4 hours for the return trip.
