From the Mount Field National Park Visitor Centre, head south on Lake Nicholls Track. Follow the signs for Lake Nicholls. The drive is approximately 5 km and should take around 10 minutes. The road is well-maintained but be cautious of any wildlife crossing. There is no parking fee at the trailhead.

Once you park at the end of Lake Nicholls Track, you will find the start of the Lake Nicholls Track. The hike to the lake is about 2.5 km one way and will take approximately 1 hour. The trail is well-marked, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

If using public transport, catch a bus from Hobart to Mount Field National Park. Services are available through Tassielink. Once you arrive at the park, you will need to walk to the Visitor Centre, which is about 2 km from the bus stop.
