Car
From the Mount Field National Park entrance, drive towards the Mount Field Visitor Centre. Take the road that leads to Lake Dobson. Continue on this road for approximately 13 km. You will reach a car park at the end of the road (Lake Dobson car park). From here, park your car, as further access will be on foot.

Hiking
From the Lake Dobson car park, follow the well-marked hiking trail towards Heiko's Tarn. The trail is approximately 3 km and will take around 1 to 1.5 hours to hike. The path may be steep in places, so ensure you have appropriate footwear and water. Follow the signs towards the tarn, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
