A Day Tour to Mt Field and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Tasmanian nature at its best

Sangam, our driver and guide, was one of the nicest people we ever met. The visit to the rainforest was especially moving, and could even have merited more time. The wildlife sanctuary is essentially a zoo but, for people like us who had limited time, it was a way of seeing many Tasmanian animals that we would not otherwise have seen.

The walk was very easy to the falls and the nature walk to see the 600 year old trees was easy with little effort. The bus was not great. We were the last stop to get on and had to sit where the wheel was. Extremely Extremely uncomfortable. If I had to do over again I would not done the tour because the bus was so uncomfortable. My knees still hurt a day later. I do not like the way this operator picks up. It says in your reservation it is at your hotel and then the day before the tour after you have paid they tell you it is some place else and you cant change. Last in the bus route you have to take whatever seats others dont want and the bus was very small. The bus made this tour less than desirable.

Hobart Shore Excursion: Mt. Field, Russell Falls & Wildlife

Ben led a wonderful Tasmanian Tour!

We bought our Mt. Field & Bonorong Wildlife Park Adventure excursion through “Shore Excursion Groups” for our cruise ship’s stop in Hobart, TAS. The instructions provided were excellent and got us to the visitor center where a nice man could tell we were looking for our group and checked our name off his list. This was Ben, our phenomenal tour guide. A Sydney transplant to Tasmania, Ben is a font of knowledge, about geology, culture, flora, and fauna from Australia and the state of Tasmania. He is also a very kind and humorous man who kept us engaged and laughing for the entire day-long tour. We greatly enjoyed the naturewalk through Mt Field park, culminating in a stunning view of the falls. The picnic lunch we picked up from a quaint bakery was excellent. And the Bonorong wildlife sanctuary was really about rehabilitation and focused on native wildlife- a really wonderful thing to see especially since we are not big fans of zoos - this was not a zoo! Overall, we had a truly lovely day and Ben was a huge part of that. Thank you Tours Tasmania!!
