Car
From New England, head north on the New England Highway (A3) towards Brisbane. Continue on this highway until you reach the intersection with the Bruce Highway (A1). Take the exit onto Bruce Highway (A1) towards Cairns. Continue on the Bruce Highway for approximately 1,200 km. Near the town of Innisfail, take the exit onto the Cassowary Coast Highway (A1) towards Mission Beach. Continue until you reach the junction of the Captain Cook Highway. Follow this highway north until you reach Port Douglas. From Port Douglas, take Mossman-Daintree Road (Bump Track) to the Daintree Ferry. Cross the Daintree River via the ferry (note: there is a small fee for the ferry, approximately AUD 30 for a car). After disembarking, follow Cape Tribulation Road for about 30 minutes to reach Daintree Rainforest at 2333 Cape Tribulation Rd, Cape Tribulation QLD 4873.
Public Transportation
From New England, take a bus to Brisbane. Once in Brisbane, head to the Brisbane Transit Centre and catch a Greyhound bus towards Cairns. This route will take approximately 24 hours with various stops along the way. You will need to change buses at Cairns for a smaller bus service to Port Douglas. From Port Douglas, you can take the Daintree Shuttle service to the Daintree Rainforest. Make sure to check the schedules in advance, as the shuttle may not run frequently. The total cost for the bus journey can vary, but expect to pay around AUD 200-300 for the entire trip.
Taxi/Rideshare
If you are in a nearby town, you can use a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber) to reach Daintree Rainforest. The closest town is Port Douglas. From Port Douglas, it will take about 40 minutes to reach Daintree Rainforest, and the cost will be around AUD 80-100 depending on traffic and specific location.
