Public Transport
To get to Great Sandy National Park from Noosa, start by heading to the Noosa Junction bus stop. Catch the 'Sunshine Coast Buses' Route 626 towards Rainbow Beach. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at 'Noosa North Shore'. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers towards the park entrance. Follow the signs for Cooloola Recreation Area, and you will eventually arrive at the park.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Noosa. Start your journey from Hastings Street and cycle along the Noosa River towards the Noosa North Shore Ferry. Take the ferry across the river (check ferry times). Once you are on the other side, continue cycling along the designated bike paths towards the entrance of Great Sandy National Park. The total distance is about 15 kilometers, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, begin your trek from Noosa Main Beach. Head west along the coastal path towards Noosa National Park. From there, take the pathways through the park, which will lead you to the entrance of Great Sandy National Park. This walk takes about 4-5 hours, so bring plenty of water and snacks. The scenic route offers stunning views of the coastline and lush greenery, making it a worthwhile adventure.
