If you are driving from Alice Springs, take the Stuart Highway (National Route 87) heading south. Continue for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Hartley Street, then turn left. Follow Hartley Street for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction with Mount Gillen Road. Turn right onto Mount Gillen Road, and you will see the access point to Mount Gillen on your left after about 1 kilometer. There is no entry fee for accessing Mount Gillen.

You will want to catch a bus heading towards the Alice Springs Desert Park or the Telegraph Station. Get off at the nearest stop to Hartley Street. From there, it is a 20-minute walk (approximately 1.5 kilometers) to the junction of Hartley Street and Mount Gillen Road. Walk along Hartley Street to the junction and then turn right onto Mount Gillen Road. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the access point to Mount Gillen. Public transport tickets cost around AUD 3-5 depending on the distance.
