Car
If you are driving from Alice Springs, take the Stuart Highway (A87) southbound for about 450 kilometers. Then, take the Lasseter Highway (A87) west towards Uluru. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. There is an entry fee of AUD 25 per adult, valid for three days. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the Lungkata Walk trailhead, which is located near the base of Uluru.
Public Transportation
From Alice Springs, you can take a bus service such as the 'AAT Kings' or 'Greyhound' to Yulara, the nearest resort town to Uluru. The journey takes about 5 hours. Upon reaching Yulara, you can catch a shuttle bus that operates within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The shuttle will take you to the Lungkata Walk trailhead. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance to plan your visit accordingly.
Walking
Once you reach the trailhead for Lungkata Walk, you can enjoy the 7.4 km loop walk that showcases stunning views of Uluru and the surrounding landscape. This walk typically takes around 2-3 hours to complete. Be sure to bring water, wear appropriate footwear, and check the weather conditions before starting your hike.
