Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the town of Renmark, head south on Renmark Avenue, which becomes the Sturt Highway (B64). Follow the highway for approximately 30 kilometers. Turn left onto the Walker Flat Road, and continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Walker Flat. Once in Walker Flat, follow signs to Maynards Lookout. There is a small parking area available at the lookout point.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in the Riverland region. The closest major public transport hub is in Renmark. From Renmark, you may take a local bus service towards Walker Flat, though schedules may vary. It's advisable to check the local bus timetable in advance. Once you arrive in Walker Flat, you may need to walk approximately 1-2 kilometers to reach Maynards Lookout, depending on your drop-off point. Be prepared for some uneven terrain.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, you can cycle to Maynards Lookout. Starting from Renmark, take the Sturt Highway (B64) heading south. It's about a 30-kilometer ride to the Walker Flat Road junction. From there, follow Walker Flat Road for another 15 kilometers to reach Walker Flat. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as there are limited facilities along the way.

• Walking

  If you're already in Walker Flat and prefer to walk, you can reach Maynards Lookout by following Walker Flat Road. Depending on your starting point within Walker Flat, it can be a pleasant walk of about 1-3 kilometers. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, and bring water, especially on warmer days.
