If you're driving to Breakaway Scenic Point from Adelaide, take the A1 highway north. Continue on the A1 until you reach Port Augusta. From Port Augusta, switch to the A87 highway towards Coober Pedy. The drive will take approximately 8-9 hours, covering around 840 kilometers. Once you reach Coober Pedy, follow the signs to the Unnamed Road where Breakaway Scenic Point is located. Note that a permit is required to access the point, which costs $11 and can be obtained via a QR code posted at the site.
Public Transport
To reach Breakaway Scenic Point using public transport, you can take an internal flight from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, which is the nearest town. Airlines such as Rex offer flights that take roughly 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Coober Pedy, you can hire a car or take a taxi to reach Breakaway Scenic Point, which is about a 10-minute drive from the town center. Remember to arrange for the permit costing $11 prior to your visit.
