If you're traveling by car, head south on the Hume Highway (M31) from either Mittagong or Bowral. Follow the signs to Thirlmere and exit onto Thirlmere Way. Continue on Thirlmere Way until you reach Barbour Road. Turn left onto Barbour Road, and the NSW Rail Museum will be on your left at 10 Barbour Rd, Thirlmere NSW 2572. There is ample parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach the NSW Rail Museum via public transportation, take a train from either Mittagong or Bowral stations to Thirlmere Station on the Southern Highlands Line. Once you arrive at Thirlmere Station, exit the station and walk south on Thirlmere Way for about 15 minutes until you reach Barbour Road.
