Overview
Tea Tree Bay is a picturesque beach located within Noosa National Park, approximately 500m east of the park entrance. A short, scenic 20-minute walk from Laguna Bay brings you to this tranquil haven, far removed from the hustle and bustle of Hastings Street. The bay faces north, offering protection from prevailing southerly winds, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. The beach is framed by spiky pandanus trees and dotted with flat rocks, perfect for spreading out a picnic blanket. At low tide, the rock pools teem with marine life, offering a glimpse into the underwater world with creatures like crabs, fish, and sea anemones. While the bay is unpatrolled and swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and rips, experienced surfers frequent the rocky point, known for its steep, hollow waves at low tide and gentler waves at high tide.Tea Tree Bay is more than just a beach; it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including koalas, which sometimes inhabit the surrounding trees. The walk to the bay along the Coastal Walk also offers spectacular views from lookouts like Boiling Pot and Dolphin Point.Historically, the bay has been a popular destination for beachgoers, with photos dating back to the early 1900s. Today, it remains a cherished spot for those seeking a peaceful escape and a connection with the natural beauty of Noosa National Park.
