Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Sheffield. From Sheffield, take the C132 road towards Cradle Mountain. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and covers about 60 km. As you approach Cradle Mountain, follow the signs for Cradle Mountain National Park. Once you reach the entrance of the park, you will need to pay an entrance fee of approximately AUD 25 per vehicle. Continue along Cradle Mountain Road, and keep an eye out for signs indicating the parking area for Cradle Mountain Canyons.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Launceston or Hobart to Cradle Mountain. The bus service known as 'Cradle Mountain Coaches' operates routes that take you directly to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Once you arrive at the Visitor Centre, you will need to take a shuttle bus that operates within the park to reach the Cradle Mountain Canyons area. The shuttle bus fare is around AUD 15 one-way. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
Walking
If you are already within the Cradle Mountain National Park and prefer to walk, you can hike from the Visitor Centre to the Cradle Mountain Canyons area.
