If you're traveling by car, start from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Take the Tasman Highway (A3) north towards Launceston. After approximately 2 hours, take the exit toward the Bass Highway (A1) and continue for about 30 minutes. Follow signs for Cradle Mountain and take the C132 road, which will lead you into the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, there is a small fee for entry (around AUD 25 per vehicle). Continue on the main road until you reach Dove Canyon Track. Park your car at the designated parking area. From there, follow the well-marked walking trail to Knyvet Falls, which takes about 30 minutes on foot.

To reach Knyvet Falls using public transport, start by taking a bus from Hobart to Launceston. Several bus companies operate this route, and the trip takes about 2 to 3 hours. Once in Launceston, you will need to transfer to a bus heading to Cradle Mountain. This leg of the journey may take an additional 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arriving at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, you can either book a shuttle service that can take you closer to Dove Canyon Track or hire a taxi if available. The shuttle service may incur an additional cost (approximately AUD 15-30 one way). From the drop-off point, follow the walking trail to Knyvet Falls, which should take around 30 minutes.
