    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Sheffield. Take the M1 highway heading southwest towards Cradle Mountain. After approximately 50 km, take the exit towards Cradle Mountain Road (B51). Continue on Cradle Mountain Road for about 20 km, following the signs to Cradle Mountain National Park. The Pencil Pine Falls car park will be on your left. It's important to note there is a park entry fee, which is currently around AUD 24 per vehicle for a day pass.

  • Public Transport

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Launceston to Cradle Mountain. The service is operated by Tassielink Transit. Once you arrive at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, you can either walk (about 1 km) or take a shuttle bus that runs to various points of interest in the park, including Pencil Pine Falls. The shuttle fare is approximately AUD 12 for a round trip. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited.

    If you are already in the Cradle Mountain area, you can reach Pencil Pine Falls by a short walk. From the Pencil Pine car park, take the well-marked walking track that leads to the falls.
