Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Halls Gap, which is a central location in The Grampians. Head north on Grampians Road (C222) for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction at Stawell. Turn left onto the Western Highway (A8) towards Stawell. Continue for about 4 kilometers, then take the exit for Scenic Road. Follow Scenic Road for around 3 kilometers, and you will see the signs for Big Hill Lookout. There is free parking available at the lookout site.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Big Hill Lookout using public transport, take a bus from Halls Gap to Stawell. Check the local bus schedule for departure times as they may vary. Once you arrive at Stawell, you can either walk or take a taxi to Scenic Road. The distance from the bus station to Big Hill Lookout is about 5 kilometers, a scenic walk that will take approximately 1 hour. Alternatively, a taxi ride will cost around AUD 15-20.

• Walking

  For those in Stawell who prefer to walk, you can start from the town center and follow the Scenic Road towards Big Hill Lookout. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and takes about an hour. Ensure you have good walking shoes and stay hydrated as the path may have inclines.
