If you are driving from Alice Springs, head west on the Stuart Highway (National Route 87) towards the West MacDonnell Ranges. After approximately 18 kilometers, take the turn-off for the Larapinta Drive exit. Follow Larapinta Drive for about 20 kilometers until you reach Simpsons Gap. Look for the signs directing you to the Simpsons Gap car park, which is just off Larapinta Drive. There are no fees for parking at the gap.

Public Transportation

To reach Simpsons Gap via public transport, take a bus from Alice Springs. Bus services like the 'Alice Springs Transit' operate routes that connect to the West MacDonnell National Park. Check the schedule for specific times, as these may vary. The nearest bus stop to Simpsons Gap is at the Simpsons Gap car park. Keep in mind that the bus service may not run frequently, so plan accordingly. A single bus ticket typically costs around AUD 5-10.

Bicycle

For the adventurous, biking from Alice Springs to Simpsons Gap is a great option. The distance is about 18 kilometers. You can rent a bike in Alice Springs; rental fees are usually around AUD 30-50 per day. Take the same route as if driving, using Larapinta Drive.
