Car
To reach Echidna Chasm, start your journey from the nearest major city, which is Kununurra. From Kununurra, head south on the Victoria Highway towards Halls Creek. After approximately 195 kilometers, turn onto the Purnululu National Park road. This road is unsealed and may require a 4WD vehicle, so be prepared for rough terrain. Continue on this road for about 53 kilometers until you reach the park entrance. There is an entry fee for Purnululu National Park, which is approximately AUD 13 per vehicle. Once you enter the park, follow the signs for Echidna Chasm, which is a short drive of about 20 kilometers from the entrance. The last part of the journey involves a short walk from the parking area to the chasm itself.
Public Transportation
If you are traveling by public transportation, you can take a bus from Kununurra to Halls Creek. However, there is no direct public transport to Echidna Chasm. From Halls Creek, you will need to arrange for a tour or a taxi to take you to Purnululu National Park. Ensure to book a tour that includes Echidna Chasm in the itinerary, as this is the most reliable way to visit. Once you arrive at the park, you will still need to walk to the chasm from the parking area.
