Public Transport
From Bad Gastein, walk to the Bad Gastein train station. Take the regional train towards Bad Hofgastein, which is just a 5-minute ride. Once you arrive at Bad Hofgastein station, exit and head towards the main road. From there, take a left and walk along the road for about 10-15 minutes until you see signs directing you to Katharinastollen.
Walking
If you prefer to walk directly from Bad Gastein, start at the center of Bad Gastein and head towards the direction of the waterfall (Wasserfall). Continue walking straight along the main road (Kaiserstraße) for approximately 4 km. You will pass by several hotels and shops. Look for signs pointing towards Katharinastollen; the path will lead you into the scenic hiking area. The hike will take about 1 hour to reach the entrance of Katharinastollen.
