Getting there

Bus

From Bregenz, walk to the Bregenz Bahnhof (train station). Take bus number 1 towards Lindau. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Lindau, Insel' stop. From there, it's a short walk to Oberer Schrannenpl. Follow the signs towards the historic center, and you will reach Diebsturm in about 5 minutes.

Train

Head to Bregenz Bahnhof (train station) and catch a train towards Lindau. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Lindau Bahnhof, exit the station and walk towards the lake. Follow the path along the waterfront, which will lead you to the entrance of the island. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Oberer Schrannenpl., where Diebsturm is located.

Walking

If you prefer a scenic walk, you can walk from the center of Bregenz to Lindau. Start at the Vorarlbert Museum and head towards the lakefront promenade. Follow the promenade along the lake until you reach the border with Germany, which is just past the marina. Continue walking straight; you will cross into Lindau after about 1.5 hours of walking. Once in Lindau, head towards the island's historic center and you will find Diebsturm at Oberer Schrannenpl.
