Public Transport
From Eisenstadt city center, walk to the Eisenstadt train station (Bahnhof Eisenstadt). You can reach the station by following the main street (Hauptstraße) towards the east until you arrive at the station entrance. Once at the station, take a train towards Neusiedl am See. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. After arriving at Neusiedl am See, exit the station and catch bus number 280 towards Peilstein. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the Peilstein stop and follow the signs to Peilstein mountain, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the center of Eisenstadt and head southeast towards the hills. Follow the path leading out of the city, which will take you along scenic routes. It is approximately a 1.5-hour walk to reach Peilstein, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Follow the signs for hiking trails leading to Peilstein, keeping in mind that the last part includes a steep incline.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Eisenstadt. Head southeast from the city center and follow the designated bike paths that lead towards Peilstein. The cycling distance is about 8 km and will take roughly 30-40 minutes. Keep an eye out for road signs directing you to Peilstein. Once you arrive at the base of the mountain, lock your bike and take the hiking trail to reach the peak.
