Walking
If you're starting from Graz's central square, Hauptplatz, exit the square towards Sporgasse. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Sackstraße. Turn right onto Sackstraße and follow it until you arrive at the intersection with Freiheitsplatz. The Freiheitsplatz will be on your left, marked by the prominent Kaiser Franz I monument.

Public Transport - Tram
From the main train station, Graz Hauptbahnhof, board tram line 1 towards 'Graz, St. Peter'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Jakominiplatz' stop. From Jakominiplatz, transfer to tram line 3 towards 'Graz, Puntigam'. Alight at the next stop, 'Freiheitsplatz'. You will find the Freiheitsplatz just a short walk from the tram stop.

If you're near the Murinsel, head southeast along the riverbank until you reach the bridge called 'Kaiser-Josef-Brücke'. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead onto Grieskai. Follow Grieskai until you reach the intersection with Freiheitsplatz, where you will see the monument.
