Car
From Gurktal, take the B93 road towards the south. Continue on B93 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction with L94. Turn right onto L94. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to the Gurktal Alps. Follow these signs for another 5 kilometers until you arrive at the designated parking area near the trailhead.
Public Transportation
Start at the Gurktal bus station. Take the bus line 100 towards Villach. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Gurktal Alps stop (make sure to check the schedule for bus timings). From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the main trailhead. Follow the signs directing you to the Alps, as the trailhead is well-marked. Note that bus tickets cost around €5 for a single journey.
Walking
If you are already in the central area of Gurktal, you can walk to the Gurktal Alps. Head south on the main road towards the B93. Once you reach B93, turn right and walk for about 10 kilometers. You will pass several local sights along the way. Once you reach the junction with L94, follow the signs to the Gurktal Alps for another 5 kilometers. This is a scenic route, so take your time and enjoy the views.
