Hiking
From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the Hallstatt train station. Once you reach the station, follow the signs for the hiking trail to Schafberg. The trail is well-marked and will take you through beautiful forest paths and scenic overlooks. The hike is approximately 2 hours long and moderately challenging, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Make your way to the base of the Schafberg at the Hallstatt train station. Here, you can purchase a ticket for the Schafbergbahn funicular railway. The funicular will take you directly to the summit of Schafberg in about 30 minutes. Enjoy the stunning views as you ascend. Head to the Hallstatt lakefront, which is a short walk from the center of Hallstatt. Look for the boat station where you can catch a ferry to the base of Schafberg.
