Getting There

• Car

  From the central area of Hohe Tauern, head towards the town of Mittersill. You can take the B161 road, following the signs to Mittersill. Once in Mittersill, continue on the B161 towards the direction of Kitzbühel. As you approach the village of Pirzbichl, look for signs directing you to Pirzbichl 21, where Scharbergkogel is located. The drive should take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Public Transportation

  Start your journey at the nearest train station in Hohe Tauern, likely Mittersill. Take a train towards Kitzbühel and get off at the Kitzbühel train station. From there, you will need to catch a bus (Bus number 830) towards Pirzbichl. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time as buses may run less frequently. Once you arrive in Pirzbichl, walk to Pirzbichl 21, which is the location of Scharbergkogel.

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or rideshare service from your location in Hohe Tauern directly to Scharbergkogel.   For the adventurous, if you are already in the vicinity and enjoy hiking, you can take a scenic trail from Mittersill to Scharbergkogel. This hike can take around 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level. Be sure to bring plenty of water and check the trail maps. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, as the terrain can be challenging.
