If you're driving to Edelweißspitze from Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße, take the Großglockner High Alpine Road (Großglockner Hochalpenstraße). The entrance to this scenic road is located just north of Fusch. Please note that there is a toll fee to access the road, which is around €38 for a car (as of 2023). Follow the road for approximately 12 kilometers, and you'll reach the Edelweißspitze parking area. The road is well-signposted, and the drive offers stunning views of the Alps.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a regional train to Zell am See from major Austrian cities. From Zell am See, you can catch a bus to Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße. Once in Fusch, you can connect to a local shuttle service that operates during the summer months to Edelweißspitze. Be sure to check the current schedules and routes as they can vary. This trip may take approximately 2-3 hours depending on connections.
Combining Car and Public Transportation
If you prefer to use a combination of both methods, consider driving to Zell am See and parking your car there. From Zell am See, take the bus to Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße, then switch to a shuttle service to reach Edelweißspitze.
