Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by heading towards the town of Hopfgarten im Brixental. From there, take the B170 road towards the direction of Wörgl. Continue on this road until you reach the junction for the Brixental Valley, where you will turn onto the Brixentaler Straße (Brixental Road). Follow this road, and you'll see signs for Hohe Salve. The most common starting point for the ascent is the Hohe Salve cable car station in Hopfgarten. There is a parking lot where you can leave your car, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Hohe Salve via public transportation, first take a train to Wörgl Bahnhof. From Wörgl, transfer to bus line 4070 towards Hopfgarten im Brixental. Once you arrive in Hopfgarten, follow the signs to the Hohe Salve cable car station. You can purchase a ticket for the cable car to take you up to the peak. Make sure to check the bus and cable car schedules in advance to plan your trip effectively. The bus and cable car may incur costs, typically around €3-€10 depending on the route and time of year.

• Hiking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can also reach Hohe Salve on foot. Start in the town of Hopfgarten and follow the marked hiking trails leading up to the peak. It’s a challenging hike, so be prepared with appropriate footwear, water, and snacks. The trail takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Be sure to check local maps for the best routes and trail conditions.
